About us
What is Karate?
Karate is a Japanese martial art that originated in Okinawa. It's a self-defense system that uses striking, blocking, and kicking. Karate also emphasizes balance, self-discipline, and peaceful action.
What does karate involve?
- Kihon: Basic strikes, blocks, kicks, stances, and movements
- Kata: Traditional patterns of movements that promote self-defense
- Kumite: Sparring, where techniques and principles are applied against an opponent
Karate benefits
- Physical: Develops defensive and counterattacking body movements
- Mental: Improves overall well-being, including self-discipline and peaceful action

Karate history
- Developed in the Ryukyu Kingdom (present-day Okinawa prefecture, Japan)
